Nicolae Grigorescu is birth at Pitaru on 15 May 1838 has been a Romania painter, the Romania modern paintings founder followed by Ion Andreescu and Stefan Luchian. 

The artistic carrier, the compositions?

The carrier’s start are the paintings from the workshop’s Czech painter Anton Chladek , and after he paints for the sell our artistic creations, continuing with frescoes from the churches ( Caldarusani, Zamfira, Agapia). With the help of Mihail Kogalniceanu, a politic man and of culture he obtains a scholarship at Paris frequenting The Academy of beautiful arts where meet Jean Baptiste Renoir.  He across Barbizon, Louvre, Luxembourg museums coping the big master’s works (Rembrandt, Rubens, Salvador Rosa). In the meantime, he enters at Barbizon school learning impressionistic technic in which he expresses the Romanian traditionalism. For a time, he comeback in Romania for to gather necessaire painting materials at International Exposition from Paris in the year 1867. He travels in Italy to Rome, Naples, Pompei, Greece, Vienna after which enters at Independence war from Romania with Turkey where paints the death scenes wide cruelty or courage with that are gifted the winners. He exposes many times in France and Romania at Intime Club and Romanian Atheneum, being the first member of Romanian Academy.

Grigorescu is birth in Romanian culture! He loves the traditionalism, loves the human simplicity with sunrise and sunset. He is interested, attracted of artistic concept of Barbizon school, painting” en plein air” (open air) which fascinating him, because it is really in freedom sense, of expression.
